If you have kids or guests you'll probably have a gum mess at some point. It can be daunting once it's on the fabric but don't worry it comes off. If this is a problem for you then don't keep wondering, read on! Ever wonder how mom did it? Here are several tips by house cleaning Florence that are helpful in ridding yourself of chewing gum from your cotton clothing and other fabrics during the house cleaning process.

1. Make an ice cube sandwich

During the house cleaning process, it's much easier to remove your chewing gum mess if it is first frozen solid. You need only two ice cubes to get started.

 - During house cleaning, simply sandwich the gum bewteen two pieces of ice, this will chill the gum enough to make removal easy .

- Simply wait for the ice to melt. Once it has, the gum is hard.

2. Bag it up in the freezer!

For the house cleaning process, if the ice cubes aren't working or if you wish to get done more quickly, simply put that fabric in the freezer.

- Put the item in a ziplock bag with the gum facing out.

- When house cleaning, you don't have to use a bag but it will help to keep the fabric form sticking to the frosty surface of your freezer.

3. Get Scraping or Tweezing:

During the house cleaning process, after the gum is hard, carefully remove the gum from the fabric. The last thing you need to do is damage the fabric by pulling too hard or yanking

- You can use the side of a butter knife to remove the gum from your cloth. Try to work the blade in between the gum and fabric without stabbing or digging into the cloth.

4. Spot-clean and launder garment as usual:

After the house cleaning process, if there is gum residue or a stain on the garment, simply spot clean the fabric or use laundry detergent, dab it on, then wipe or you can just lightly scrub it away.

- When house cleaning makes sure that the spot cleaner is safe to use for the garment by testing it in an inconspicuous area.

- Afterword you should launder the de-gummed garment just like you normally wash your clothes; always be sure that you read the instructions of the manufacturer’s at the tag.
